The Tony Moly Oriental Gyeol Booster was a sample that was included with my last Korean skincare order. I googled “Tony Moly Oriental Gyeol Booster” and discovered that it contains 24 karat gold. I have never used a product that had 24 karat gold in it, but I have seen rave reviews about gold cosmetics all over the internet.
I was really excited to try this. My Laneige Time Freeze set didn’t come with a toner so I added this booster to my Laneige Time Freeze regime. On the other hand, I was a bit hesitant to use the booster because I read in my research that gold can be a skin allergen when used in cosmetics.
I only had two 1ml packets of The Oriental Gyeol Booster. I planned for four uses, but I had to use one entire packet to fully cover my face and neck; resulting in a total of two uses. The Tony Moly Oriental Gyeol Booster smells heavily of perfume, but there is also a medicinal undertone to the fragrance. This could be due to its ingredients. I couldn’t find a full ingredient list, but here are some of its basic ingredients.
Tony Moly The Oriental Gyeol Booster’s Main Ingredients: 24k gold, 12 different fermented herbs and deer antler designed to moisturize, firm, and tone the skin as well as treat wrinkles.
The Tony Moly Oriental Gyeol Booster is golden in color. It’s texture is very watery and it is semi-spreadable. A little does not go a long way for me and it does take a while to fully absorb into the skin.
After the first use my skin was smooth, plump, soft, and quite sticky. After a few hours and even into the next day, my skin took on an odd yellow tone. After the second use, my face developed a rash of fine bumps and whiteheads. This quickly went away after I stopped using the product.
I really liked the way that the Tony Moly Oriental Gyeol Booster made my skin pump and smooth after the first use, but I think I am either allergic to the gold it contains, allergic to the fermented ingredients, or this booster contains alcohol.
Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Super Cream
The next sample I tried was the Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Super Cream. I had four 1ml packets of this cream and it was just enough for one use from each sample packet. The Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Super Cream contains ceramides, shea butter, and rucola extract. It is supposed to nourish and maintain a moisture barrier on the skin for up to 3 days. This cream is suitable for all ages, safe for sensitive skin, and is 10 free in the Korean free system.
The Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Super Cream is a very rich and slightly whipped cream. It’s not smothering, but it is very heavy and nourishing. I usually don’t like fragranced products, but this cream has a very pleasant fresh, fruity fragrance. The Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Super Cream is easily spread and quickly absorbed into the skin.
The Holika Holika Skin & Good Cera Super Cream Ingredients:

- First use: It left my skin slightly tacky, but very moisturized. My skin had a slight radiance and was soft, but not as soft as when I was using Laneige Time Freeze. The next morning, my skin was slightly oily and a bit sticky, but some of the fine irritation bumps that I had on my cheeks and forehead had diminished.
- Second use: My skin was still blotchy and the hyperpigmentation I had did not go away, but I still had a slight glow to my skin. The next morning my skin was not sticky or oily at all and the irritation bumps I had were totally disappearing.
- Third use: My irritation bumps and rough patches of skin were gone! My skin still wasn’t oily or sticky, but smooth, soft, and had a soft radiance.
- Fourth use: I used this after a TCA peel and my skin maintained all of the benefits from the third use.
The Holika Holika Skin & Super Cera Cream is an amazing product! I am convinced that its ceramides healed my rough and irritated skin. I tried all kinds of products to heal the skin damage created from using my previous sunscreen and cleansing milk. I even tried a variety of healing oils on my skin to help it heal. Nothing helped my skin texture except for the Holika Holika Skin & Super Cera Cream and for this reason I highly recommend it!
